HISTORY OF THE RINK
The rink was built by Al De Havens in 1977, replacing a smaller rink he had successfully run in nearby West Canaan, NH, on Black Water Road.
Al grew up in an orphanage and enjoyed children and the sport of roller skating throughout his life. When he retired, he built the rink, known then as Al's Casino. It was during the Disco Years and with the special lighting and sound, the rink was the place to be.
In 1987, Peter Martin and Diane Redfield purchased the rink from Al and renamed it later Great View Roller Skating Rink because of the view overlooking Mascoma Lake. Since then, the rink has gone through many changes and improvements. The rink has been featured on Chronicle on Channel 9 WMUR TV twice; covering the rink and the late Bettina Corliss. She taught many thousands of children and adults to skate and enjoy the sport. Bettina started skating at age 61, continuing to teach into her late 80s.
As insurance became more costly, most of the rinks disappeared slowly one-by-one, leaving only a handful in NH and VT. Many people have grown up with the rink and remember it as a happy time in their life. Now, years later, they are returning with their children to experience those times again and make some new memories with their children and friends.
A fun, family friendly roller skating rink in Enfield, NH. For over 20 years, we've been the Upper Valley's ideal place for birthday parties, events, live bands and of course, roller and in line skating fun.

Now under new management. Come on down, have some fun, get some exercise,
and meet some nice people! Try your luck at the Numbers Game, test your skating skills with Squish Skate, re- live the glory days of the rink with our all new Horse Race, and see how fast you are with our Speed Skate.
Managers

Operator and DJ:
Eric Hammond
Eric has been here at the rink since the early 80's. Known in the derby community as LOKO OJOS. Beginning with Al De Havens teaching him how to skate guard and then DJ, he has worked here in one form or another since the age of 15. An avid skater, Eric is very well known for his daredevil tricks on skates. From back flips to handsprings, Eric has tried it all. As our DJ, Eric takes pride in having an extensive music library. So if you request a song, chances are, Eric has it. For Eric, one of the best times is when he has special guest DJ's (birthday boys and girls) come into his DJ booth and clown around with him. Have you tried it yet ??
